My Take / Opinion
The video is more of an overview than a deep dive, so let’s deep dive into THE BEAST CAP Barbell Olympic Bar Review. I have owned this barbell for several years. The review above was almost one year after I purchased it just to make sure it held its’ own. This has been my primary barbell for squats, benching, and deadlifts. I’ve loaded it to nearly 500 pounds, especially when I was powerlifting.
It does have some flex at that weight, but not a lot. It has also always returned to a flat, non bent barbell. The end caps have not required any sort of major cleaning or overhaul. I’ve very rarely applied silicone or a cleaner to clean the bar.
Overall, it’s been an amazing find for right around $100. It does not have a deep knurl but as you get into lifting, that is something you’ll either want in a barbell or to simply steer clear. If you are a serious deadlifter, you will want to get used to a heavy knurl. However, I am the average LiftingDad and this bar works well for me. I WOULD also purchase again.
