It’s sad news today as we’ve learned of the passing of former Mr. Olympia 2018 Shawn Rhoden. RIP Shawn Rhoden IFBB Pro as a fellow LiftingDad I am so very sorry to hear of your passing. While it doesn’t seem like you were 46, your career came on strong and felt early on and now it’s settled on this news.
I had initially seen it mentioned on NicksStrengthPower Instagram page. Then after looking online I saw an article from GenerationIron.com that stated the cause of death as a heart attack, other outlets seem to be holding off on relaying the cause of death. He is survived by his daughter.

Shawn Rhoden was born April 2, 1975 and has now passed as of November 6, 2021. He was a Jamaican-American and made it to the pro ranks as an IFBB professional bodybuilder. He won the 2018 Mr. Olympia contest by defeating the champ Mr. Olympia Phil Heath (7x Mr. Olympia). At nearly 43 and a half he was the oldest bodybuilder to win a Mr. Olympia title.
It felt so early on in his career as he was the rising star it has come to an end. RIP Shawn Rhoden IFBB Pro.
Events like these are very tragic and I hope his family is doing ok in these difficult times. We had such a rough year last year and it felt like things were heading towards lighter times and a new normal. Then something like this happens. It is important to try and stay positive. This was deemed a heart attack (per the article from GI) but it’s important to stay motivated. You need to keep moving forward. That is why the motto of my channel is to keep pushing.
